A business attracts customers through its reputation and identity. The recognizable aspects of its identity are normally embodied in marks such as logos or names. If protected properly, trademarks can be a powerful tool for continually attracting returning business. On the other hand, if a trademark is not well protected, the prominence of a business to the consumer may be diminished. This talk will provide a basic understanding of trademarks and include a discussion on how to select a good trademark.
