Today, Paperclip Startup Campus, a co-work and serviced office space with advisory and programs for early entrepreneurs, announces the launch of their latest product, a program called the Validator, in partnership with the Global Sources Startup Launchpad Event, billed as 'Asia’s largest Hardware startup event’.
The Validator’s tagline is ‘Immersive training for startups’ and is designed to generate tangible outcomes for companies within a short period of time. The program has been designed by Deepak Madnani, founder of Paperclip Startup Campus.
The need for better startup support is clear. The Validator has been designed to fulfil the ever increasing needs for founders and investors by addressing gaps in the current startup support systems.
Deepak says, “It is no secret that the startup eco-system, including the investor base, is growing exponentially in size. Also Startups, and more generally speaking, early entrepreneurs, are still struggling to achieve the quality support they need to get to 'plan B' faster. Existing help like Incubators can offer very early, soft support and Accelerators are investing in Startups who they deem qualified to have a good chance of post-fund raising, but that leaves out a huge potential market of founders who either don’t want to raise funds or who still need to learn the valuable startup-building skills needed for fund raising.
After running Paperclip for about three years now and understanding the needs of founders better, I designed the Validator to address this gap. Founders can use these short programs to learn valuable skills in an intensive training format.”
The Validator programs are customised, intensive, training programs that focus on four key areas:
Business Model Validation, Technology Validation, Go-to-market strategy Validation and Investor Readiness;
and works together with expert partners who understand that they can focus on their core value-proposition while still adding tremendous value to Startups, who will most likely be their future customers.
The inaugural program, in partnership with Global Sources Startup Launchpad Event, is the perfect example of how the Validator program can add-value to an already world leading product. Startup Launchpad is Asia’s largest hardware startup tradeshow and conference event, featuring more than 200 startups and 35 speakers over an 8-day period. The event takes place twice a year in Hong Kong, every April and October, and draws over 66,000 attendees from around the world.
Ben Wong, Head of Global Sources Direct says, "Startup Launchpad is here to provide hardware startups access to a global buyer community that can materialize online and offline distribution. As a result, we are excited to cooperate with Paperclip in its Validator initiative. We trust that the Global Sources buyer and manufacturer communities will be able to provide these founders the insights required to scale their businesses."
